Two Pitchers Team Up As GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity Shuts Out Thales Academy



GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity defeated Thales Academy 17-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ken Malacinski struck out Joseph Mason to finish off the game.

GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the third inning. Jack Horn, Tyson Brown, Landon Wheeler, Jacob Cabaniss, and Horn all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Malacinski singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity tallied ten runs in the third inning. Horn, Brown, Wheeler, Cabaniss, and Horn powered the big inning with RBIs.

One bright spot for Thales Academy was a single by Kaede Shuey in the first inning.

Kaden Sigmon earned the win for GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity. Sigmon lasted three innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking zero. Malacinski threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Tucker Hennessy took the loss for Thales Academy. Hennessy surrendered seven runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out one.

GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity scattered 12 hits in the game. Horn, Cabaniss, and Sean Moss each had multiple hits for GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity. Horn led GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity with four hits in four at bats. GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Malacinski led the way with three. GRACE Christian Eagles Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Moss had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
