CARY — A roller-coaster season for the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team ended with an 70-60 loss to Trinity Christian in the quarterfinals of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A championship Thursday night at Cary Academy.
The Knights, seeded No. 5, finished with an 18-16 record. Greenfield had split a pair of regular-season games with No. 4 Trinity, which climbed into the semifinals with a 15-14 record.
Greenfield entered as the top 1-A representative from the Coastal Plain Independents Conference.
