The Kerr-Vance Academy boys baseball team defeated Terra Ceia 17-0 in the first round of playoffs Friday evening in Henderson.
Senior Jabe Montgomery threw a perfect game from the mound Friday night, striking out 12 Terra Ceia players. The game was called after five innings.
Wil Short was three for four at the plate, with three RBIs. Jabe Montgomery was two for three for the night, with three RBIs. Colby Wilkerson went one for two, with one RBI. Cam Murphy was two for four, with one RBI. Matt Overton was three for three for the night. Wyatt Humphries was two for two, with two RBIS.
“After the first two innings our bats woke up and we started hitting the ball,” KVA Coach Todd Wilkerson said. “Jabe threw really well for us, throwing a perfect game. It was a perfect number of pitches to set him up good for Tuesday.”
KVA will play at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the next round of playoffs.
