In girls' action, The Burlington School fell 57-54 to Oakwood in the semifinals of the NCISAA Class 1-A state tournament Friday.
Top-seeded Oakwood faces the winner between Elizabeth City Victory Christian and second-seeded Fayetteville Trinity Christian in tonight's championship.
The Spartans (21-6) held a one-point lead going into the final minute, but four Oakwood free throws provided the turnaround. The Burlington School missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the final seconds.
Senior Taylor Fluette led the Spartans with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and added four rebounds and four assists. Deja Cousin scored 11 and Aniyah Vanhook had seven points, five rebounds and four assists.
Kara Williams led Oakwood with 37 points.
