HIGH POINT — Chase Pyrtle hit a two-run inside-the-park home run and Devin Lumley hit a conventional two-run homer as Westchester Country Day topped visiting Arendell Parrott, 5-0, in the semifinals of the NCISAA 2A tournament Monday.

The Wildcats (22-5) advance to the best-of-three championship series at Gaston Day that begins Friday night at 6. They will play the winner of today’s game between Northside Christian and Faith Christian.

WIll Shields drove in Westchester’s other run with an RBi single and was also the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out four over the first five innings. Drew Cottrell held Arendell Parrott hitless and struck out one the rest of the way.

Mac Starbuck also had a good day at the plate for Westchester, going 2 for 3 with a double, stolen base and run scored.
