HIGH POINT — Beau Myers went 3 for 3 with a homer, double, three RBIs and two runs as top-seeded Wesleyan Christian Academy clobbered fourth-seeded Christ School 10-3 in the NCISAA 3A semifinals on Tuesday at Ed Price Field.

Justin Olczak finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run as the Trojans (19-1) advanced to Game 1 of the best-of-3 state championship series against second-seeded Charlotte Christian on Friday at 6 p.m. at Covenant Day School in Charlotte. Game 2, and Game 3 if needed, will be played on Saturday at Covenant Day.

Christ School built a 2-0 lead after the top of the first, but Wesleyan responded to lead 7-2 after three innings and never looked back.

“It’s playoff baseball,”

Wesleyan coach Scott Davis said. “Win and advance or lose and go home. I told the kids after the top of the first inning that we had plenty of time. We just needed to be aggressive and swing the bats well. The kids did that and I was pleased with the way we responded, particularly batting with runners in scoring position.”

Wesleyan’s Jay Dixon went 1 for 4 with two RBIs, while Patrick Baily was 2 for 4 with an RBI and run and Nate Blakeney was 1 for 3 with a double, RBI and run.
Riley Isenhour earned the pitching win with 4 ⅓ innings of two-hit relief. He allowed one run with one strikeout and no walks. Luke Davis and Blakeney also pitched solid relief for Wesleyan.
