Graves leads HPCA past Christ School
RALEIGH — Ty Graves struck for 20 points as third-seeded High Point Christian Academy’s boys held off sixth-seeded Christ School for a 72-65 victory in the NCISAA 3A boys quarterfinals at Ravenscroft on Thursday night.
The Cougars (23-5) advance to play second-seeded Greensboro Day School (28-4) in the semifinals tonight at approximately 8:30 at Ravenscroft. The Bengals defeated seventh-seeded Forsyth Country Day 67-50 in Thursday’s quarterfinal.
Bam Adebayo added 18 points for the Cougars, while Michael Hueitt Jr. netted 12 and Jalen Seegars had 11.
HPCA led Christ School 22-19 after the first quarter, 42-39 at halftime and 58-56 after three periods.
HPCA reached the NCISAA 3A Final Four for the fourth time in five years.
