A little over a year ago, Cannon School beat Charlotte Latin 62-60 to win its first CISAA conference championship in school history.
Saturday, Cannon won a share of a second straight league title, beating Charlotte Latin 67-42. The win avenged an upset loss earlier this week to Charlotte Latin.
The teams will share the league crown.
The big difference Saturday was Cannon had junior forward DJ Nix back in the lineup. He missed the game earlier this week. Nix and Cannon led 24-10 after the first quarter and allowed Latin just four points in the second quarter.
Cannon led 39-14 at the break.
Nix finished with a team-high 20 points. Junior center Christian Reeves had 16 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks, and senior Elijah Ormiston had 15 points, six rebounds. Cannon finished the regular-season 23-5, 8-1.
Charlotte Latin got 24 points from Graham Calton, but no other Hawk had more than Jaylen Jones’ 5.
