Ingles Athlete of the Week: Avery Jackson
David Thompson Asheville Citizen Times
What’s it been like playing matches this season with all of the new COVID-19 rules and regulations?
It has definitely been a weird vibe not having fans and wearing masks while not on the court, but my team has made sure to make it the best experience possible by keeping the energy high.
What are your expectations for your senior volleyball season?
I hope to go far in the state playoffs and have a winning record this season while embracing every moment with my teammates knowing I won't get to play with them again.
Do you have a favorite high school sports memory?
My favorite high school sports memory would be when the women's track and field team won conference for the first time in school history because not only did we surprise ourselves, but also our coaches and peers.
What other sports do you play? Do you have a favorite?
I also do jumps and sprints in track and field and that is probably my favorite of the two sports I play, but I have played volleyball since the I also do jumps and sprints in track and field and that is probably my favorite of seventh grade and it is going to be hard not having it in my life as I move on to college.
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you eat and why?
I would eat Chick-fil-A because that is by far my favorite type of food and I could probably eat it every single day. I basically already do that now.
What are you plans for after graduation?
I plan on possibly continuing my track and field career at the collegiate level while majoring in Biology following the Pre-Medicine track.
