Asheville School football coach retires
Gus Schill has retired as Asheville School's head football coach, according to a press release from the school.
Schill has been the head coach for the Blues since 2013 after joining the staff as an assistant in 2010. He guided the Asheville School to a NCISAA Division III state runner-up finish in 2018.
“We greatly appreciate Coach Schill’s service to our football program,” said athletic director Carl Boland. “Under his guidance, we have seen our roster size increase and several of our players have gone on to play at the college level.”
Schill will continue to serve in his roles as head baseball coach and humanities instructor at the school. Asheville School plans to conduct a national search for his successor, according to the press release.
