Carolina Day basketball standout commits to Division I college
Kasey Kidwell, a member of Carolina Day's NCISAA Class 2A state title winning basketball team last year, has committed to play college basketball at Austin Peay next season.
Kidwell has offers from 10 other programs, but said she "felt an instant connection not only with the coaching staff but also the players" during a visit to the school.
Kidwell, a 5’8” guard for the Wildcats, earned numerous honors her junior year, including CAA All-Conference honors, NCISAA 2A All-State honors, and was named a member of the Citizen-Times All-WNC basketball team. Additionally, Kidwell helped lead the Wildcats to their 7th straight NCISAA 2A basketball title this past season.
Kidwell will hold her official signing ceremony on campus during the NCAA’s National Letter of Intent ‘s early signing period, which begins Nov. 8 and runs until Nov. 15. Once Kasey makes it official, she will become the seventh Wildcat player under Coach Joe Carrington to sign with a Division I program.
