Geyer and Greenies are meshing

New coach Cody Geyer does not assume any one thing has led to an eight-game winning streak for Christ School baseball.

And that might be the best part of it all.

The Greenies (12-3, 4-0) have thumped aside Carolinas Athletic Association opponents as well as a couple public schools (North Henderson and Pisgah) during this run.

“I am super-excited and super-proud of these kids and all that they are doing,” Geyer said.

“It’s pretty easy when you are winning ballgames at the high school level to get complacent. And they aren’t doing that at all. When we get into scenarios where it is sink or swim, it has been so awesome to see these kids battle through. It’s been super-fun to watch.”

Christ School is on the road for Wednesday’s 4:30 first pitch against Asheville School.

There are currently eight Greenies hitting .300 or better – Will Fleming (.481), Jackson Hipp (.448), Mike Reynolds (.407), McKinley Bell (.364), Jeffrey Hester (.360), Will Goosmann (.353), Chad Treadway (.346) and Max LeCroy (.313).

Fleming, who is a Wake Forest recruit, and Hunter Macomber are a good 1-2 punch when it comes to pitching.
