Greenies up winning streak to 10 games
Western North Carolina’s hottest baseball team now has a winning streak in double digits.
Christ School hit early and often Saturday with 17 total base knocks to take a 10-0 mercy rule win over visiting Tuscola.

Fleming, Michael Reynolds and Max LeCroy paced Christ School (14-2, 5-0) in its 10th straight win with three hits apiece. McKinley Bell, Chad Treadway and Jackson Hipp chimed in with two hits apiece. The Greenies only needed six innings to defeat one of three co-leaders in the WNC Athletic Conference – Tuscola is presently tied with Franklin and Smoky Mountain for first place with a 7-3 record in the WNCAC.
LeCroy (three), Treadway (two) and Jeffrey Hester (two) did the most damage Saturday from an RBI perspective. Treadway pitched an inning of scoreless relief to close things out.
Christ School’s area-best winning streak began on March 25. The Greenies are home for Tuesday’s Carolinas Athletic Association matchup with Asheville Christian Academy. The first pitch will be thrown at 4:30 p.m.
Christ School has already surpassed last year's number of wins (11) under first-year coach Cody Geyer, who is a 2010 North Buncombe graduate. The Greenies have also clinched the CAA championship.
