Rabun Gap improved to 6-1 with a 61-52 home win against a traveling team from Australia.
Seniors Kenneth Hines and Niko Harrell spent the afternoon at football practice for an All-Star Football game, but made it back to campus in time for the basketball game. Each played a vital role in the come from behind win.
In the forth quarter Harrell scored the only 2 point field goal for the Eagles and had some timely steals. Hines made 13 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter to help take the lead and hold it. Hines led all scores with 23 including 17-22 free throws. Sophomore Abba Wague added 22 on six three point shots and going 4-4 from the free throw line.
The varsity plays three road games this weekend as they head into Christmas Break. December 18 Forsyth Country Day (Winston Salem), December 19 Hickory Grove (Charlotte), December 21 Southlake Christian (Charlotte).
