The first Queen City Holiday Classic is Dec. 28-30 at Vance High School. It will be one of two high-profile tournaments in town on the same date. The third Hoodies House Of Hope tournament is at Providence Day School.
Teams playing at Vance High are: Cape Henry (Va.), Fayetteville Northwood Temple, Arden Christ School, Coolidge (DC), Columbia Keenan (SC), Raleigh Millbrook, Hickory Moravian Prep, Columbia (SC) Ridge View, Vance, Raleigh Word of God, Carmel Christian and Hopewell.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth daily or three-day passes are available for $25. Organizer Thad Bonapart, a former West Charlotte star, hopes to raise $20,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
