SANFORD — Ja’Dun Michael pumped in 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead The Burlington School boys’ basketball team past Neuse Christian Academy 65-52 in the semifinals of the Mid-Carolina Conference Tournament played Thursday at Grace Christian.
Ji’Lil Michael supplied 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers and dished out five assists for the Spartans (22-6), who led 57-25 after three quarters of play. The Burlington School will play the winner of Crossroads Christian School / Grace Christian School in the championship tonight.
Mylyjael Poteat contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans, with Michael Wade adding 10 points.
Kurtis Taylor scored 21 points for the Lions (8-16), while Kyle Clarke (13 points) and Donovan Vinson (10 points) also made contributions.
