FAYETTEVILLE — Mylyjael Poteat’s layup with 10 seconds remaining off a Ji’Lil Michael pass lifted The Burlington School to a 67-66 victory against Northwood Temple in non-conference boys’ basketball Saturday.

Northwood Temple’s Josh Nickleberry, a Louisville signee, attempted to drive the ball with six seconds remaining and lost control of his dribble as time expired.

Heath Gulledge scored 19 points for The Burlington School (9-2), hitting four 3-pointers.

Michael Wade had 18 points and dished out five assists for the Spartans, while teammate Ja’Dun Michael added 14 points.

Poteat supplied 12 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots for The Burlington School.

Nickleberry poured in a game-high 35 points for Northwood Temple (7-7), with teammate Jamahri Harvey scoring 14 points.

“I thought it was a tough, gutsy win for us,” The Burlington School coach Will Roberson said. “We didn’t play our best against a very tough team on the road. I am proud of the way we have grown since the beginning of the season.”
