Cougars fall to S.C. school
CONCORD – Despite junior forward Reigan Richardson scoring 16 of her team-leading 23 points in the second half, the Cannon School girls basketball team suffered a 49-45 defeat to Cardinal Newman of Columbia, S.C., Friday night.
Richardson added 13 rebounds, three steals and two assists to her total.
Junior Zoe Edwards scored 11 points for the Cougars, who saw their record go to 4-4. Freshman Trinity Mathis had six rebounds, four points and three assists.
Ashlyn Watkins led Cardinal Newman with 21 points.
