Cyclones beat up by Wayne Christian
The Community Christian boys basketball team fell 75-45 to Wayne Christian inside the gym at the ENC School for the Deaf on Thursday night in a 1-A Carolina Christian Conference contest.
“The effort was great,” CCS head coach Ronnie Wells said. “But we just didn’t shoot the ball well at all. We played well in spurts, but they we’d get chaotic.”
Junior Grant Webb and sophmore Cameron Williams each scored seven to pace the Cyclones, who dropped to 4-8 overall and 1-5 within the CCC. Eighth-grader Michael Piccolo had six.
Tyriqus McClean led Wayne Christian with 17 points, while Austin Kornegay had 12 and Brandon Cowan 11.
The Cyclones will host Lee Christian inside Williamson Gym on Friday.
