Change Made to NCISAA Spectator Policy

On Thursday, October 8 the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Administration (NCISAA), after consultation with health officials, member schools and it’s board of governors, announced a change in the policy for spectators at athletic events.

Effective immediately indoor sports during regular season and conference tournaments will be allowed to have 2 adult spectators for each player on the home team roster, with total spectators not to exceed 25 per order of Governor Cooper. All spectators must wear masks and must socially distance from other spectators. Outdoor sports have the same guidelines, maximum crowd shall not exceed 100. Essential event personnel will not count toward the 25 and 100 minimums.

Moving into NCISAA playoffs each school will be allotted 50% of the allowable total with the same guidelines in place. Also, the NCISAA will explicitly define which essential personnel are permitted for each sport as this has been an area that has been inconsistent among member schools during the regular season.
