High School Roundup: Country Day wins 3rd straight NCISAA tennis title
Charlotte Country Day won its third straight N.C. Independent Schools 3A state championship Saturday.
The Bucs polished off an unbeaten season with a dominant 5-0 win over Charlotte Latin. The match was played at Charlotte’s Providence Day School. Country Day (20-0) won each of its three playoff matches by the same 5-0 score.
Charlotte Latin finished its season at 18-3.

▪ St. David’s beat Cape Fear 5-2 to win its second straight 2A title. Two area players made the 2A all-state team: Gaston Day’s Caroline Garrido and Elsa Schuls.
▪ Wayne Country Day beat Kerr-Vance Academy 5-1 in the 1A final.
