No. 1 in North Carolina high school football? It’s still Charlotte Christian

Charlotte Christian, a three-time reigning state champion, remains No. 1 in the Charlotte Observer/Raleigh News & Observer’s All-North Carolina high school football ranking this week.
The Knights opened their season with a 21-13 win over Charlotte Country Day. Christian is off Friday but will play at No. 2 Providence Day Oct. 16.
▪ Currently, only private schools are playing football in North Carolina and are the only teams ranked. There will be All-North Carolina rankings for boys and girls basketball this winter and as well as high school football in February, when public schools are set to begin playing
