Eagles wallop Westminster Catawba by 77 points to win MAC title
ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Cream of Cabarrus second-ranked cfa Academy boys basketball team thoroughly thrashed Westminster Catawba Christian School, 103-26, on the road Friday to secure the Metrolina Athletic Conference regular-season championship.
The Eagles finished their regular-season campaign with a perfect 8-0 record in the MAC while going 24-5 overall.
A number of Eagles came up huge in the victory, with Trae Benham and Jordan Phipps sharing team-highs with 21 points apiece, while Eli Cupples had 13. However, eighth-grader Caleb Foster also got in on the action, contributing 16 points.
cfa Academy now prepares for next week’s MAC tournament.
