Balanced Eagles attack pays dividends

CONCORD – With Isaac Boothe and Cheick Traore registering double-doubles, the cfa Academy boys basketball team defeated visiting Salem Baptist Christian Academy, 74-36, on Thursday night.

Boothe, a junior guard, ended the night with 13 points and 10 assists. Traore, a senior forward who last week signed with Youngstown State, had 13 points and 16 rebounds.

The Eagles, who improved to 6-1 on the season, got help from several different athletes. Senior Furman University signee Garrett Hien tallied 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.

In addition, junior guard Trae Benham led the Eagles in scoring with 21 points, making four 3-pointers.

Salem Baptist, located in Winston-Salem, suffered its first loss of the season and is now 5-1.
