Village Christian returns to title game
Tim Grate passed for 228 yards and three scores and rushed for 128 to power Village Christian to a 49-14 win over Harrells Christian on Friday night and into the NCISAA Div. III state title game for the second year in a row.
Chris McKay Jr. caught three of Grate’s passes for 106 yards and two TDs.
Village (10-1) will host Asheville School ( 7-4), a 33-28 victor over Huntersville SouthLake Christian, the team that knocked off Village in the 2017 title contest.
The Crusaders got 113 rushing yards from Shahmeek Darby in finishing 5-5.
