Lady Tigers power past Epiphany, 48-33

NEW BERN — The Wilson Preparatory Academy girls basketball team got off to a slow start Tuesday night, but powered its way to a 48-33 victory by way of a big third quarter against host The Epiphany School.
Wilson Prep outscored Epiphany 19-2 in the third quarter, turning what was a one-point game at halftime into a rout.
Trinity Mobley scored a team-high 19 points and added 12 steals and 10 assists in WPA’s victory. Keyonna Thompson added 17 points and six rebounds to shoulder the scoring efforts. Ynique Dew scored just three points, but pulled down 14 offensive rebounds and nine defensive rebounds.
Wilson Prep will take the court again Friday, Dec. 13, at Southeast Halifax to start 1-A Tar Roanoke Conference play.
