FCS looking for varsity boys soccer coach

Faith Christian School is trying to fill a coaching vacancy for its varsity boys soccer program.

Associate athletics director Al Carter, who handles the school’s coaching hires, said on Monday that he’s had a couple potential hires fall through. With the school year close to starting, Carter said the school would like to fill the opening quickly.

“It is not a teaching position, and that’s the problem,” Carter said. “So basically we need somebody in the community. . . maybe a retired coach in the area that is looking to get back into in again.”

The new coach will replace Tyler Hendricks, who will remain at FCS. Hendricks also coached the girls varsity soccer and basketball teams, and he will continue to do so. Carter said the three varsity sports and teaching responsibilities became tough to balance.

Faith Christian graduated 11 senior players last year. Carter hopes to hire someone immediately to help provide direction to those players remaining.

If interested in the position, contact Carter at 252-904-3822.
