Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Libby Eagles, Greenfield School
Libby Eagles helped her Greenfield School girls tennis team reach the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A championship match last week, making her this week’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Libby, playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with teammate Luisa Lee, won both matches last Tuesday to help the Lady Knights spill Lawrence Academy in the state 1-A semifinals before losing to The Oakwood School in Saturday’s final.
On the season, she went 7-7 at No. 1 singles for Greenfield.
The daughter of Ginny and Ben Eagles of Wilson, Libby has a 4.41 GPA at Greenfield while taking four Advanced Placement courses this semester. She is a member of Student Government Association, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, Environmental Club, Headbands for Hope and the Wilson Family YMCA youth board.
Libby also plays basketball and soccer for the Lady Knights while also being a member of the cheerleading squad.
She serves as an acolyte at First Methodist Church and worked as a sailing instructor at Camp Seafarer in Arapahoe over the summer.
Libby hopes to study biology or animal science in college.
