CCS blasted by Bethel 56-14

KINSTON — The Community Christian School eight-player football team ended its regular season with a 56-14 loss to Kinston Bethel Christian on Friday.
However, the Cyclones (1-3) will not have to wait long for a rematch, as CCS drew the No. 3 seed for the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs and will visit the Trojans (2-1) in the first round Friday at 7 p.m.
Junior quarterback Landon Beamon threw for 175 yards and a touchdown on 10-of-23 passing. Trey Barnes pulled in five passes for 90 yards while Jacob Harper had four receptions for 89 yards. The Cyclones were limited to just 36 rushing yards.
Barnes led the CCS defensive effort with seven tackles while Beamon and Tyler Rogers had six each, including four solo stops apiece.
