Bethel Christian shuts out Northeast Academy in conference play
LASKER | The tough competition Bethel Christian played over the past four weeks helped in a big way Friday.
Javon Edwards ran for 198 yards and four touchdowns as the Trojans shut out Northeast Academy 40-0 on the road. Bethel Christian, in the 1A NCISAA classification, played four straight 2A opponents to start the season, getting a win over Arendell Parrott last week and dominating its first 1A conference game.
The Trojans’ defense allowed just 66 yards of offense, getting its first shutout since the football team was put back into the school after a 38-year hiatus. Bethel Christian will host Lawrence Academy on Sept. 23.
