Cyclones decked by Halifax 74-24

After a 52-point first quarter, most of the scoring in the rest of Friday’s eight-player football game between Halifax Academy and host Community Christian was done by the visiting Vikings in a 74-24 romp.
Halifax (2-1), which led 36-16 after the first quarter, outscored the Cyclones 38-8 the rest of the way. Community Christian (1-3) was led by senior quarterback Landon Beamon, who combined for 258 offensive yards. Beamon ran for 147 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries while completing 6-of-14 passes for 111 yards and two more TDs. Two of his throws were intercepted.
Aiden Smith snared two of Beamon’s tosses for 80 yards.
Copeland Farmer and Matthew Jackson led the Cyclones with seven tackles each while Beamon registered six stops.
The Cyclones head to Lasker on Friday to face Northeast Academy.
