Cyclones ousted in 1-A semis by Halifax 38-8

Community Christian's hopes of playing for the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A eight-player football championship were vanquished by Halifax Academy with a 38-8 win Friday on the Cyclones' field.
CCS, which had beaten Halifax 36-30 last Friday to gain the No. 3 seed and homefield advantage, fell behind 22-8 at the half. The Cyclones finished their best season since resuming football in 2014 by posting a 6-5 mark. CCS rebounded from an 0-3 start.
No other details were available on the game.
Halifax will play at No. 1 seed Kinston Bethel Christian, a 48-14 victor over Wayne Christian on Friday, for the state title next week.
