High Point Christian dominates Christ the King
High Point Christian put up big plays early and often in a 55-0 shutout victory over Christ the King on Friday in Huntersville. Lance Boykin made the first big play of the night with an 81-yard kickoff return to put the Cougars up 7-0. It was the first of three scores in a 20-point first quarter.
All three came on big plays. Ryan Caldwell struck next for High Point Christian with an 80-yard run, but Christ the King blocked the extra point attempt to keep it at 13-0. Chace Clency then connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass, finding Ty Ragsdale to give High Point Christian a 20-point advantage.
Clency did a bit of everything for High Point Christian (8-1). He posted 74 passing yards and a passing touchdown, and did even more damage at as a receiver,notching two receiving touchdowns. Christ the King fell to 2-7.
