CONCORD — High Point Christian fell 28-27 against the Cabarrus Warriors in NCISAA football Friday night in Concord.
Luke Homol completed 12 of 22 passes for 205 yards with four touchdowns and one interception for the Cougars (2-2), who struggled with two turnovers. Jalen Smith had seven catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns, while Isaiah Sanders had two catches for 39 yards and one touchdown.
Jordan Wilson ran 18 times for 137 yards as HPCA led 14-7 into halftime and scored a touchdown in the fourth to regain the lead but couldn’t convert the extra point before the Warriors (4-2), who are a combination of players from Cannon and Concord First Assembly, scored a touchdown and extra point to go ahead.
Chase Cox had 12 tackles and two tackles for a loss, Colby Cox had nine tackles and two tackles for a loss, and Tanner Schuck had six tackles and two tackles for a loss to lead the defense for the Cougars, who will play at home this Friday against Christ School to end the regular season.
