FCS' season ends in NCISAA first round

Faith Christian’s football season came to an end Friday in the first round of the NCISAA Division I 8-man playoffs.
The fourth-seeded Patriots lost to top-seeded Arendell Parrott Academy, 73-60.
FCS (5-5) won on the final week of the regular season to grab the fourth and final playoff spot and looked to play spoiler early on. The Patriots opened up a 22-6 lead with 5:26 to play in the first quarter, but couldn’t hang on.
APA (8-2) scored the next 20 points to take a 26-22 lead. But FCS wasn’t done, and grabbed the lead back with a touchdown and two-point conversion to go up 30-26. The Patriots would keep the score close, including cutting the deficit to 53-52 at one point late in the third, but fumbles hampered the upset try.
FCS lost four fumbles, including one midway through the fourth quarter.
