Saturday
NCISAA Western
Asheville School at Christ School
Records: Asheville School 6-3 (3-2); Christ School 8-1 (1-0)
Last Week: Asheville School won 51-18 over Victory Christian; Christ School won 21-14 over Providence Day
Last Year: Christ School won 47-6
Notes: The longest running rivalry in WNC turns 92 this year as the Blues travel to Arden to face Christ School in both teams' final regular season game. Asheville School has been a pleasant surprise this season and should be able to compete in the upcoming playoffs. The Greenies have legitimate state title hopes after big back-to-back wins over Charlotte Latin and Providence Day. Christ School has won the last eight games against Asheville School, but the Blues lead the overall series 50-37-4. Christ School is led by junior quarterback Navy Shuler, who is the first quarterback in WNC this season to throw for over 3,000 yards. Shuler has 3,195 yards and 36 touchdowns to nine interceptions. Asheville School is led by junior Chris Hemphill (826 yards) on the ground while junior Connor Davis has thrown for 822 yards and six scores.
