Christ School at Providence Day
Records: Christ School 7-1 (1-0); Providence Day 5-3 (2-0)
Last Week: Christ School won 28-13 over Charlotte Latin; Providence Day won 42-6 over Charlotte Country Day School
Last Year: Providence Day won 42-25
Notes: The current MaxPreps.com NCISAA Division II rankings has Christ School at No. 2 in the state, with Providence Day at No. 5. The Greenies defeated a state-ranked team last week in win Charlotte Latin (No. 4) and could bolster their claim for a top seed heading into the playoffs next month. Regardless of who wins this game, the two teams may very well see each other in the playoffs again. Christ School's junior quarterback Navy Shuler continues to be one of the nation's best this year, completing 70 percent of his passes for 2,893 yards and 34 touchdowns. Shuler did throw a season-worst three interceptions against Charlotte Latin and will look to shrug off the mistakes. Kaedin Robinson leads WNC with 1,198 receiving yards and Keyvaun Cobb has slowly taken over the running back duties for the injured Sidney Gibbs. Cobb had eight carries for 101 yards and a touchdown during last week's win. Providence Day has its own proficient quarterback in junior Cody Carter, who has thrown for 1,515 yards and 19 touchdowns to nine interceptions.
