Oakbrook Prep vs. Asheville School at West Henderson HS
Records: Oakbrook Prep (South Carolina) (1-0); Asheville School (0-0)
Last Week: Oakbrook Prep won 44-8 over Ware Shoals
Last Year: Asheville School won 50-24
Notes: The Blues wont get a chance to debut their new $3 million multipurpose athletic complex this Friday, moving their game to West Henderson High School while they finish construction. They hope to have the field ready next week when they host Greenville Home School, but school officials say they don't anticipate the facility to be "fully operational" until their third scheduled home game on Sept. 21. Asheville School returns 16 starters from last year's 4-7 team but will rely on junior Connor Davis to take over at quarterback for departed senior Ahmad Galimore. Davis passed for 514 yards and seven touchdowns as a backup last year. The Blues return four of their offensive linemen and the majority of their skill players on offense, including wide receiver Ousmane Diallo (456 yards), running back Uchenna Ikwuakor (684 yards) and Titus Morrison. Junior linebacker Thomas Good (100 tackles) returns after leading the Blues in tackles in 2017. East Henderson quarterback Chris Hemphill transferred late in the summer to Asheville School and will quickly become a valued member of the offense.
