Notes: Friday’s game marks the return of Franklin’s 2,000-yard rusher Brock Kloeppel after a two-game suspension, although the Panthers have not suffered without him behind Grant Stiles (254 yards, six touchdowns) and A.J. Carpenter (134 yards, two touchdowns). Carpenter has also been a leader on defense with 26 tackles – 2nd most in WNC. Franklin opened the season with a 33-8 win over Asheville – the program’s first win at Memorial Stadium – and added a win over defending state champion Murphy last week, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter for a comeback victory.
