No. 3 Southlake Christian (5-6) at No. 1 Village Christian (8-4)

Southlake arrives in this championship game via attrition. The Eagles survived a trip to 4-7 Rabun Gap, Georgia, where they defeated Nacoochee 30-17 before defeating Concord First Assembly 16-9 in overtime last week, avenging a 27-16 loss in the regular season finale.

If Southlake is forced to pass, it’s in trouble. Quarterback Bailey Jones does have 16 touchdown passes, but owns a 49 percent completion rate with 23 interceptions. The Eagles average 1.9 yards per carry running the ball. Meanwhile the Knights earned the top seed as the lone team with a winning record and has feasted on its two playoff opponents to the tune of a combined 94-14 score.

Should the car transporting Celik Curtis to the game suffer four flat tires in an area with no cell phone reception, the Knights could be vulnerable to not covering whatever spread one wants to put on this game.

Curtis has scored in every way possible this season, be it offense, defense or special teams. Curtis and Kaleb Bowen are forces along the defensive front seven, meaning Southlake’s turnover-prone offense could be in for a long night.
