RALEIGH, N.C. — St. David's School in Raleigh hosted John Paul II Catholic out of Greenville for an NCISAA 8-man football contest on Friday evening. The Warrior 48-32 victory ended the undefeated start to the season that the Saints from JPII were enjoying.
The difference in the game came on special teams. St. David's sophomore kicker Cris Messmore was successful on three onside kicks. Since kickoff is at the 40, each onside kick attempt has to get to midfield before it can be touched by the kicking team. Messmore put the ball in spot that the Warriors can get it to give them the ball right back after three touchdowns. Messmore is normally a soccer player for St. David's.
