Statesville Christian at Asheville School
Records: Statesville Christian (0-2); Asheville School (3-1)
Last Week: Statesville Christian did not play; Asheville School won 34-12 over Southlake Christian Academy
Last Year: Statesville Christian won 53-7
Notes: Statesville Christian has not played since Aug. 24 and seem to be a completely different team from last year's squad that went undefeated in the regular season. The Lions have six underclassmen starting and no one on the roster from last year, according to their coach. They've been outscored 84-10 in two losses this season. Statesville Christian will be walking into a celebration for Asheville School, which will play its first football game in its new $3 million athletic complex that includes a new artificial turf field and lights. The Blues will look to put on a big show in their new digs, a week after an impressive 26-point road win. Asheville School continues to enjoy its new transfer in former East Henderson standout Chris Hemphill, who leads the team with 364 yards rushing. Hemphill is accompanied in the backfield by Uchenna Ikwuakor, who has rushed for 294 yards on a team-high 52 carries. Junior quarterback Connor Davis has completed 21-of-51 passes for 383 yards with top target Titus Morrison, hauling in 12 catches for 191 yards.
