Village earns shot at NCISAA crown
Celik Curtis rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns, and Village Christian earned a trip to an NCISAA championship game for the second year in a row with a 41-8 rout of Harrells Christian on Friday night. Village, 8-4 and the No. 1 seed in the Div. III field, will host Huntersville’s SouthLake Christian for the title. SouthLake (5-6) advanced with a 16-9 overtime win against Concord First Assembly.
Curtis scored on runs of 49, 39 and 11 yards, and he added 10 tackles. Village also got a 73-yard interception return for a touchdown by Donovan Baker on the final play of the game.
