Grace Christian (1-4) at Arendell Parrott (6-0), 7 p.m.

Last game: Eagles defeated St. David’s 51-0 Oct. 8, Patriots defeated Faith Christian 54-14 Oct. 1

Last meeting: APA won 20-8, Oct. 2, 2020

It’s safe to say both teams will be well-rested heading into this matchup, as the Eagles had a bye week and the Patriots couldn’t find an opponent over the last two. Last season provided a rare defensive struggle, but it’ll be tough to see a repeat considering the APA firepower.

The Patriots are averaging 56.5 points per game, led by Cole Dawson (1,111 yards passing, 16 passing touchdowns, 3 rushing touchdowns) and Morgan McPhaul (764 yards rushing, 18 rushing touchdowns, 497 yards receiving, 5 receiving touchdowns). Paxton Riley and Michael Outlaw each have five receiving touchdowns and the team has put in plenty of work defensively as well. Hodges Manning has 46 tackles and five of the Patriots' 12 interceptions, Ashton Brinson has 81 tackles and a pair of forced fumbles, Outlaw has racked up 49 tackles and a pick-6 and Wyatt Powley has 11 tackles for a loss and three sacks.

Grace Christian's record is a bit deceiving, as the Eagles lost three one-possession games to start the season. Cary Christian did get a convincing 44-16 win on Oct. 1, but Grace Christian destroyed St. David's to pick up momentum. The Eagles are led by dual-threat quarterback Sean McDowell, along with senior running back Jahlil Harvey.
