Asheville Christian Academy graduate Bailey Clark agreed to his first professional baseball contract on Friday.
Clark signed his fifth-round deal to play for the Chicago Cubs organization in Mesa, Ariz. Terms of the contract were not immediately available, but the slot value or recommended signing bonus for this year's 164th overall pick is $321,800.
Clark, 21, is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound junior right-handed pitcher who just completed his junior season at Duke.
Clark had a combined 4.31 earned-run average and 120 strikeouts in 121 innings over the course of his college career. He was part of last summer's USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
