Christ School's Jalen Lecque signs with NBA team

The Phoenix Suns have signed former Christ School basketball player Jalen Lecque as an undrafted free agent following the June 20 NBA draft.

It was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that Lecque signed a four-year deal with two years guaranteed.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound point guard was committed to NC State but stayed in high school for a fifth year at Brewster Academy, a New Hampshire private school, after transferring from Christ School. He declared for the 2019 NBA draft and was eligible as a high school player because of his age and being a year removed from his original high school class.

During his time at Christ School, Lecque and the Greenies hosted Spartanburg Day School and Zion Williamson, who selected as the No. 1 overall draft pick on Thursday. Williamson was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans.

Lecque was the second point guard Phoenix acquired on draft day, joining Virginia’s Ty Jerome.

He averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds this past season for Brewster Academy.
