Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Cedric Kirby, Greenfield School
Cedric Kirby enjoyed an outstanding opening week of the season for his Greenfield School varsity baseball team last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Cedric, a junior center fielder, went 6 for 12 with a double and a home run while stealing five bases in the Knights’ first three games. His homer in the bottom of the seventh inning against Halifax Academy tied Saturday’s game, which Greenfield won when the next batter, Jake Taylor, also homered.
Cedric maintains a 3.0 GPA at Greenfield, where he is a member of the school’s chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the soccer and basketball teams. Cedric also participates in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy and the YMCA Young Leaders Institute.
The son of Crystal and Cedric Kirby of Wilson, Cedric has volunteered his time coaching youth soccer
teams for Wilson Parks and Recreation Department. He is active at New Vester Missionary Baptist Church in Sims.
Cedric works on his game at Next Level Baseball Academy and is in the Wilson American Legion Post 13 baseball program.
