Alex Scruggs, a rising freshman on the girls' basketball team at Fayetteville's Trinity Christian School, has received a scholarship offer from Old Dominion.
The 5-foot-9 Scruggs averaged 24.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.1 assists per game last year as an eighth-grade student playing at the varsity level. She scored 48 points as Trinity Christian beat the Oakwood School 83-68 in the NCISAA's 1-A state final.
Scruggs was named to the 1-A all-state team.
