Knights blast past Saints

GREENVILLE — Seniors Trey Pittman and Dji Bailey combined for 33 points to lead the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team to an 88-57 victory over Greenville Pope John Paul II in a 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference matchup on Tuesday night.

Pittman led the Knights (21-4, 4-0 CPIC) with 17 points, including 15 in the first half, while Bailey finished just behind him with 16. The two senior players helped Greenfield jump out to a big lead early, while classmate Jordan Lynch aided them in the victory with 14 points of his own.

“We jumped on them early,” head coach Rob Salter said. “We really shared the ball well and we played well in the first half.”

The Knights will host Wayne Country Day on Friday night at home.
