Knights deck archrival WCD 90-72

With the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team observing Senior Night for Bryson Baker on Friday, the Knights completed an unbeaten run through the 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference with a 90-72 victory over archrival Wayne Country Day.
Greenfield, which improved to 26-4 overall and completed eight CPIC games without a loss, faces off with Fayetteville Trinity Christian on Saturday afternoon in a matchup of the top two teams in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A ranks, per MaxPreps. Greenfield, No. 2 in the rankings, defeated top-ranked Trinity Christian 66-64 on Jan. 2.
Junior Creighton Lebo led four Greenfield players in double figures, scoring 22 points on 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the 3-point line. Junior Jacari Outlaw had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds and handed out seven assists, while junior Jordan Lynch had 13 points and seven rebounds. Lynch added six assistsfor the Knights, who shot 36 of 59 from the field for 61 percent accuracy. Greenfield shared the ball exceptionally well, attacking the rim to the tune of 28-of-35 from 2-point territory.
The Knights led 44-29 at the half and weren’t threatened thereafter, despite a game-high 32 from Wayne Country Day (15-10, 5-3 CPIC) sophomore Jaden Cooper.
